Job Description

The Squires Group is seeking a Workday Spend / Procurement Functional Lead to support a large public sector Workday transformation initiative. This role offers the opportunity to help modernize procurement and spend management processes for a mission-driven organization focused on transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency.

You’ll join a program that is in the early design phase, allowing you to shape how procurement strategies, supplier management, and spend controls are built from the ground up. This is a high‑visibility, long‑term initiative with a collaborative team and meaningful impact on how public funds are managed.

The work is primarily remote, with 30%-50% travel to the Pacific Northwest. Per our client contract, candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card Holders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Spend Management and Procurement functional workstream within a full Workday Financials implementation
  • Facilitate design sessions and translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions
  • Configure procurement, supplier, sourcing, and approval workflows
  • Partner with Finance, Grants, Payroll, and Integration teams to ensure end‑to‑end process alignment
  • Support testing cycles, data validation, and go‑live readiness
  • Serve as the functional expert for procurement and spend management throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

  • Proven experience implementing Workday Financials with a focus on Spend Management and Procurement
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes and controls
  • Experience leading client-facing design discussions and functional decision‑making
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on configuration
  • Willingness to travel up to 30–50% as needed
  • Per our client contract, candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card Holders
