Paralegal - Hybrid schedule

Job Description
We are partnering with a major utility company in Washington, DC to identify an experienced Paralegal to support their legal team. This is a hybrid role (one day WFH) and is ideal for candidates with experience in law firms or corporate legal departments. A background in the utility sector is helpful but not required.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive legal support, including document drafting, research, case management, and administrative coordination to ensure the legal department runs efficiently and compliantly.
Per our client contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and organize legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and discovery materials.
- Conduct legal and factual research using Westlaw and related tools.
- Support attorneys with case preparation, document management, exhibits, and deadlines.
- File legal documents with courts and regulatory bodies; manage legal databases like Caseworks.
- Track legal timelines, maintain corporate records, and support governance documentation.
- Communicate with internal/external stakeholders and summarize legal findings.
- Assist with due diligence and uphold confidentiality in handling sensitive legal information.
- Provide general administrative support, including scheduling, billing, and file organization
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Paralegal Certificate strongly preferred
- Minimum 2–4 years of paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Planner)
- Experience with legal platforms such as Westlaw and Caseworks
- Solid understanding of local, state, and federal court procedures and filing systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and professional discretion
Job Requirements
Compensation:
- W2 Hourly rate: $22 - $30. Rate is based on experience and qualifications, and is subject to change at any time.
