Job Description

We are seeking an experienced PaaS Engineer/Administrator to join our client’s team in Woodlawn, MD. To be considered for this role, you should have experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux v6.x/7.x/8.x Operating System, Ansible Playbooks and Ansible Tower, PaaS infrastructure based on Docker and Kubernetes, OpenShift Container Platform, and Linux command-line environment. This direct-hire role is located in Woodlawn, MD, and requires onsite presence at least 2 days a week. Candidates must live within 2 hours of the client-site.  

 

Per our client contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders, eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance. The candidate must be willing to wait for the 4-to-6-week clearance process.

Responsibilities

  • Design, administer, optimize, and secure Red Hat Enterprise Linux v6.x/7.x/8.x
  • Design and implement automated deployment and configuration tools for RHEL PaaS
  • Use of Red Hat Satellite in support of deployment, management and auditing of the PaaS infrastructure.
  • Design and develop an architecture of PaaS infrastructure based on Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Design and develop an architecture of PaaS infrastructure in a hybrid Cloud environment.
  • Deploy a Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions based on open-source software and industry best practices.
  • Automate Docker application builds using industry standard tools such as Jenkins.
  • Automate the creation of Platform as a Service (PaaS) infrastructure using industry standard tools such as Ansible.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems and issues within the Platform as a Service infrastructure.​

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with the following:
    • RHEL 6/7/8 installation, configuration, server patching and upgrading
    • RHEL Ansible Playbook design, development, and maintenance
    • Docker and Kubernetes
    • RHEL problem analysis and troubleshooting
    • Working with hybrid cloud environments.

 

Required Skills:

  • Skills and ability with the following:
    • Creating custom Docker Containers
    • Managing image repositories in support of Docker Containers
    • Deploying PaaS solutions based on open-source software and industry best practices
    • Automating Docker application builds using industry standard tools
    • Automating the creation of PaaS infrastructure using industry standard tools such as Ansible Automation and Red Hat Cloud Forms.
    • Troubleshooting and resolving problems and issues within a PaaS infrastructure.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of the architecture of Platform as a Service (PaaS) infrastructure based on Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of the architecture of PaaS infrastructure in a hybrid Cloud environment
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities to deploy OpenShift Container Platform in both public and private cloud.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities to automate the creation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and PaaS infrastructures using industry standard tools such as Ansible, Ansible Tower and other automation technologies.
  • Prior Federal government experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to engage customers and respond effectively to questions.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated individual who adapts to a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities.

 

Education:

  • Bachelors degree with 7+ years of experience
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement

Job Requirements

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range of $110K-$125K, based on experience, qualifications, location, and certifications.  The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
