Job Description

Our client is a U.S. financial institution responsible for providing the nation with a safe, flexible, and stable monetary system. They support large-scale, mission-critical IT environments and are seeking experienced professionals to help drive complex infrastructure initiatives.

 

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Project Manager to lead and coordinate a large-scale user migration initiative across multiple IT infrastructure and security teams. This role will serve as the central point of coordination, ensuring alignment across workstreams, managing interdependencies, and providing clear, consistent communication to technical teams and executive leadership.

 

The ideal candidate has a strong background managing complex infrastructure projects, excels at cross-team coordination, and is comfortable operating in enterprise environments with multiple stakeholders and parallel workstreams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central Project Manager for a large enterprise user migration initiative

  • Develop and maintain a centralized project management framework across all project workstreams

  • Coordinate cross-functional technical teams, including:

    • Windows server and desktop support

    • File storage

    • Access management and credentialing

    • End-user device support

  • Create and manage detailed project schedules, dependencies, and critical paths

  • Facilitate regular stand-ups, planning sessions, reviews, and retrospectives

  • Manage release cycles and deployment calendars across server, network, and cloud environments

  • Identify, track, and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and blockers

  • Establish and maintain standardized communication channels for technical teams and stakeholders

  • Develop and deliver project documentation, dashboards, and executive-level status reporting

  • Provide regular updates and briefings to leadership on project progress and risks

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Agile project management methodologies
  • Proven experience coordinating technical teams across multiple IT domains

  • Demonstrated success managing complex infrastructure projects with interdependencies

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira, GitLab, or similar

  • Working knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including networking, servers, and cloud services

  • Experience with ITIL frameworks and IT Service Management (ITSM)

  • Experience managing change in enterprise environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large user migration or modernization initiatives

  • Background working in highly regulated or mission-critical environments

  • Ability to translate technical details into executive-level communications

Additional Information

  • This role is onsite in Washington, DC

  • U.S. Citizenship is required per client contract

Job Requirements

  • W2 Hourly rate: $110-120/hour. Pay rates are based on experience, qualifications, and location, and are subject to change at any time.
