Project Manager – Strategic Initiatives PMO
Location: Washington, DC (The Wharf) / Springfield, VA
Schedule: 3 days onsite (Tuesday–Thursday)
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
Our client is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their Strategic Initiatives PMO. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in high-visibility work that shapes the future of the organization, collaborate with senior leadership to influence key strategic decisions, and grow professionally in a supportive, dynamic environment. You’ll lead high-impact projects from start to finish, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive enterprise priorities.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The position requires working onsite two days at The Wharf (DC) and one day per week in Springfield, VA.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop actionable project plans with clear objectives, timelines, and resource needs.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and maintain clear communication across stakeholders.
- Track project progress, manage risks, and ensure delivery on time and within scope.
- Support programs composed of multiple projects, providing status updates and performance insights.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with leadership and project teams.
- Analyze outcomes, capture lessons learned, and recommend improvements for future projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
- PMP required.
- Utility Industry Experience (Highly Desired): Strong familiarity with utility operations or customer programs is strongly preferred.
- Laed customer growth initiatives with a strong emphasis on project management, driving strategic improvements and measurable results.
- 5+ years leading projects in a PMO environment; experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Project and SharePoint
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and build relationships across teams.
- Experience in regulated industries or utilities; knowledge of industry trends.
Job Requirements
Salary Range: $94,000 – $136,000 (commensurate with experience, education, and skills).
