Java Developer, Mid-Level

Our direct client has a contract opportunity for a Mid-Level Java Developer for a Federal Project in Northern Virginia.  Join a team of developers building the next generation of customer engagement systems for Federal Service Agencies.  This is a modernization project, designed so the agency can better handle new requirements and the volume associated with Immigration Reform and e-Verify.

 

Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens and able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product owners and colleagues to interpret feature requests and develop software in iterative design/build/test cycles using an Agile development process
  • Draw on components from the project’s open-source framework, use JavaScript, MongoDB, RESTful Web Services, Java Spring MVC and Oracle to design, build and test software components for citizens and employees
  • Regularly check code into the continuous integration pipeline based on Gradle, Git, and Jenkins to incrementally build the overall system and get immediate feedback on build performance
  • Develop and expand unit and integration tests which will be automatically run by the build pipeline for developer feedback using JUnit and other tools like Geb, Spock, and Selenium

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience with Java Development (Java front-end programming experience using light-weight Java framework and a continuous integration environment)
  • 3 years of experience with JavaScript/React
  • 3 years of experience with Oracle RDBMS & Hibernate
  • 2 years of Change Management Software experience: Git, Subversion, TortoiseSVN
  • 2 years of Agile experience
  • Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens and be able to obtain a public trust clearance 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Agile certification
  • Experience with the following:
    • CSS/SASS
    • Automated Testing
    • Amazon Web Services Integration
