Finance Business Partner, Senior-Level

Job Description
Our client, a leading healthcare organization in Washington, DC, is in search of a Senior Finance Business Partner to provide financial strategy and operational support to the hospital COO, CFO and key stakeholders across clinical, operational, and administrative departments. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in aligning finance operations with overall business strategies, enabling improved performance across the organization. Experience with Hospital Revenue Analysis is required for this role.
This opportunity will allow you to utilize your skills in General Accounting, i.e. Month and Year-end Closing and Reporting, Budgeting and Forecasting, Capital Improvement Analysis and Return on Investment Analysis.
This position is supporting the biggest hospital in one of the largest health systems in the region. There is an opportunity to advance your career within the full health system.
The role is ONSITE in Washington, DC for the first six months, and will then offer a hybrid schedule of 1-2 days remote. US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card) is required.
Responsibilities
- Annual Operating Budget: Lead the preparation and analysis of the operating budget, providing insights and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
- Capital Budget Management: Assist in prioritizing and monitoring annual capital utilization, offering key reporting to leadership on allocations.
- Long-Range Financial Planning: Support the development of the annual long-term financial plan through robust analysis and assessment.
- Performance and Ad Hoc Analysis: Utilize data trends to conduct routine and ad hoc analyses, proactively addressing operational risks and opportunities.
- New Business Assessment: Build and refine financial models to assess the impact of new business ventures or adjustments to existing models.
- Strategic Initiatives Support: Partner with operational and clinical leaders to translate financial data into process improvement plans and operational strategies.
- Monthly/Annual Reporting: Actively engage in financial close cycles, collaborating with Finance Centers of Excellence and operational leaders to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a key financial liaison, supporting the operational, clinical, and executive teams by translating data into actionable insights to enhance performance.
Qualifications
- Hospital Revenue Cycle Expertise: Comprehensive experience managing revenue processes at a hospital scale, ensuring proficiency in large-scale operations.
- Return on Investment Analysis: Proven ability to strategize and execute financial plans that maximize organizational ROI.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Strong background in routine financial close processes and related reporting cycles.
- Budgeting Experience: Demonstrated expertise in preparing and managing both operating and capital budgets.
- Technical Expertise in Financial Tools:
- Preferred tools: Power BI, SQL, Tableau, PeopleSoft, Axiom (formerly Kaufman Hall, now Vizient).
- Additional tools: Workiva (for ESG, audit, risk, and reporting) and Alteryx (for advanced analytics, data blending, and aggregation).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-4 years in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting within a hospital setting
- Healthcare financial analysis, including cost accounting and decision support, preferred.
- Certification: CPA preferred but not required.
- Skills: Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Hyperion, and PeopleSoft is highly desirable. Strong financial modeling, strategic thinking, and presentation capabilities are essential.
Job Requirements
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range of $100K-$130K, based on experience, qualifications, location, and certifications. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
