Job Description

Junior Cybersecurity Consultant – Risk & Mission Assurance (OT/ICS)

Location: Pentagon – 3 days onsite / 2 days remote

Clearance Requirement: Active DoD Top Secret clearance (SCI eligible)

 

We're seeking a Junior-Level Cybersecurity Consultant (1–3 years' experience) to support mission assurance and OT cybersecurity efforts across a branch of the Armed Forces’ critical infrastructure portfolio.

 

In this role, you’ll assist senior consultants with risk-based assessments, mission mapping, and vulnerability analysis across SCADA/ICS environments. You'll help coordinate workshops, draft reports and visualizations, and update compliance documentation while gaining hands-on experience with AI-enabled tools and mission-critical cyber processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support mission mapping activities that align OT cybersecurity with operational priorities
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing cyber vulnerability data in OT/ICS systems
  • Draft status updates, slide decks, and summary reports for technical and executive audiences
  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings and track follow-up actions
  • Maintain documentation to support NIST CSF, and DoD compliance

Qualifications

1 – 3 years of experience with the following:

  • Supporting NIST RMF, mission assurance, or critical infrastructure cybersecurity
  • Familiarity with SCADA/ICS/OT systems and basic cyber protection practices
  • Exposure to vulnerability analysis and linking cyber risks to mission impact
  • Strong written communication skills (reports, briefings, slide decks)
  • Understanding of NIST CSF, DoD, or Air Force cybersecurity policies
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and tracking action items
  • Basic data collection/analysis using Excel or entry-level scripting
  • Ability to help coordinate cybersecurity or IT project tasks and deliverables
  • Bachelors Degree

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to MRT-C / FMA-C mission mapping or A3 Mission Assurance tools
  • Familiarity with eMASS or other GRC platforms
  • Awareness of supply chain risk and cyber impact on dependencies
  • Ability to visualize risks (dashboards, diagrams, impact mapping)
  • Experience identifying assessment gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Interest or experience with AI/ML for cyber risk analysis or “digital twin” tools
  • Basic scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation or reporting
  • Knowledge of ICS protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC) and industrial systems
  • Exposure to PowerBI, Splunk, or similar for reporting
  • Progress toward CISSP, CISM, GICSP, or similar certifications

Job Requirements

Compensation:

  • W2 Hourly rate: $38 - $42. Pay rates are based on experience, qualifications, location, and certifications, and are subject to change at any time.
