Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Systems Administrator to join our client’s team in Beltsville, MD. In this role you will manage and secure Azure cloud infrastructure, implement and monitor security controls, optimize and automate cloud operations, support multi-cloud and hybrid environments, ensure compliance with industry standards, and collaborate with teams to enhance performance, scalability, and security while maintaining up-to-date documentation and providing technical supportThis direct-hire role is located in Beltsville, MD, and operates on a rotating hybrid schedule:

  • Week 1: Two days onsite, three days remote
  • Week 2: Three days onsite, two days remote

Per our client contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens possessing an Active Secret Clearance. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage Azure cloud infrastructure, focusing on security, scalability, and seamless operations.
  • Implement and monitor security measures to protect against threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access.
  • Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot cloud resources, including VMs, storage, networking, and databases.
  • Plan and execute secure migrations of legacy systems to the cloud with minimal disruption.
  • Set up and optimize virtual private cloud (VPC) components like security groups and routing tables.
  • Automate cloud operations with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Manage identity and access controls to safeguard cloud resources.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and logs, resolving issues promptly.
  • Develop backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
  • Support hybrid and multi-cloud environments for seamless workload coordination.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines and containerized application management using Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Design efficient, secure cloud networks with optimized load balancing.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., NIST, SOC 2, GDPR).
  • Handle data encryption, key management, and tokenization to protect sensitive information.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and implement remediation.
  • Develop and enforce cloud security policies and SOPs.
  • Integrate and utilize SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, CloudTrail) for monitoring and management.
  • Conduct audits to ensure policy compliance and resource optimization.
  • Create, test, and document disaster recovery plans and failover protocols.
  • Lead incident response and forensic investigations for security breaches.
  • Stay updated on SLAs, data security obligations, and emerging technologies.
  • Train team members in cloud security best practices.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams for penetration testing and exercises.
  • Develop and deploy scripts to automate tasks and enhance security.
  • Manage resource lifecycle, cost optimization, and documentation.
  • Provide technical support, resolve issues, and participate in on-call rotations when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 9 years of experience; 7 years with a Masters; 4 years with a PhD. An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree. 
  • Possess one of the following certifications: CASP+ CE, CCNA Cyber Ops, CCNA-Security, CCNP Security, CEH ,CFR,CISA ,CISSP (or Associate),Cloud+, CySA+, GCED, GCIA, GCIH ,GICSP. SCYBER, VCA DCV, PPDA, Agile IC, SNOW App Dev.
  • An Active Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to support during core business hours (09:00AM – 05:00PM).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
