Our client has an opening for a CLEARED Cloud Platform Engineer well-versed in AWS technologies, proficient in Python programming, and equipped with a solid foundation in Linux systems. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in crafting custom software components and seamlessly integrating open-source solutions to tackle intricate challenges in time series analysis using state-of-the-art Big Data and Cloud technology.

This role is in San Antonio, TX, and offers a hybrid work schedule.  Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an Active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Act as a systems integrator, identifying avenues to enhance, optimize, or fortify existing code bases.
• Utilize infrastructure as code principles and modern tools to define, construct, and manage virtual infrastructure within cloud environments.
• Architect and implement core functionalities for software applications, spanning from conceptualization to operationalization.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and a current TS/SCI level government security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or Software Development (Python or Java), or a Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or 9 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in developing infrastructure within AWS.
• Thorough understanding of Linux systems, encompassing hosts, networks, security, applications, and adeptness in shell scripting (Shell/Bash).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to support a hybrid schedule, including approximately 20% of time spent on-site with the customer (1-2 days/week).
• Possession of a DoD 8140/8570 compliance certification (SSCP, Security+, CCNA-Security, or GSEC) and baseline certification (e.g., ACAS, AWS, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an Active TS/SCI Clearance

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with DISA’s Big Data Platform or other analogous Big Data systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes or its vendor-specific variants.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Gitlab-CI, Travis-CI, etc.).
• Understanding of agile software development methodologies and familiarity with standard software development tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, Gitlab, etc.).
• Experience with puppet, ansible, maven, and virtualization technologies (ovirt, proxmox, vmware, etc.).
